Your Newcastle United headlines for Thursday, October 13.

Newcastle CEO Darren Eales feels there can be a price for every pocket as the Magpies look to soar to the highest level in football.

Ambition is a key word at St James Park these days and, while the club insist it is a long-term project overall, even the usually cautiousEddie Howehas told players they must adhere to getting into one of the European competitions sooner or later. With success though comes demand and prices of some season tickets and some match day sales will increase as the club push up the Premier League.

Eales says that fans wont be priced out of the game, and indicated: Thats absolutely fundamental. Everything we do has to be through the lens of the supporters. What does that mean? Well, a huge part of what makes Newcastle United the club that it is, is the passion of the supporters and the atmosphere thats generated here inside St James Park.

Talking to Eddie and the players, they feel it too and feel its absolutely fundamental to what the club is. They love it and want that interaction between them and the supporters. I think that is clearly a huge part of Newcastle Uniteds identity, and its something we have to be mindful of when were making decisions.

Callum Wilson has quipped that he probably would have been hauled off the field if he did not square the ball to Jacob Murphy for Newcastle Uniteds second goal in the 5-1 win against Brentford.

WithNewcastlealready 1-0 up,Wilsonseized upon goalkeeper David Rayas under-hit pass in the 28th minute last week and raced through on goal. Raya did admittedly narrow the angle as he rushed out but rather than taking on the shot himself, like most strikers, Wilson unselfishly played the ball back across goal to the unmarkedJacob Murphy, who doubled the Magpies advantage.

It was a rare assist from Wilson, who clearly had a similar situation on his mind from just a few minutes earlier when Murphy slipped in the number nine outside the area. Assistant manager Jason Tindall was far from happy as Wilson failed to pick out Miguel Almiron.

The 30-year-old joked that, if he had taken on the shot himself once again and missed, he would probably be getting pulled off the field a lot earlier than he did in the 84th minute.

There was a stoppage in play and the assistant manager said, Cal, you have to square that, Wilson told the Footballers Football Podcast. Im like, square what? I was having a one v one in the box.

Subconsciously, thats in my mind so as Ive intercepted it, Ive seen Murphy make a movement but the goalies legs are so wide open! But I squared it anyway. It made it 2-0 so it was the right decision. We won the game.

Eales has also pledged to talk to supporters on any major developments at St James Park. Toon fans watched on in 2013 as Mike Ashley changed the stadium name without consultation of fan groups while Alan Shearers name was also wrenched off the main bar area at the ground.

The former Atlanta United supremo said: Its important that, anything we do, we bring our supporters along with us.Fan engagement is going to be front and centre. We want to be a top-six club consistently competing for trophies so its about how we get there but we also want to be sustainable.

Kieran Trippierand Bruno Guimaraes have been the best signings for Newcastle United since the takeover one-year ago. According to 5,741 people took part in ChronicleLives one-year takeover anniversary survey, it was a close call between who would take top spot as the number one signing.

The first signing of the new regime, and England international, Trippier takes top spot with 2,351 (41%) votes. However, it was close with Brazil magician Guimaraes accounting for 2,286 (40%) of votes.

Both players have been integral in lifting the Magpies up from the Premier League doldrums with Howe transforming the Toon into a competitive side once more. The Newcastle boss received 671 (12%) votes, making him the third best signing.

Dan Ashworth received 154 (3%) votes to make him the fourth best addition to Newcastles set-up, while Geordie Dan Burn took home 134 (2%) votes. The other arrivals received 145 votes (3%).
